Scanly ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our QR & Barcode Scanner app ("the App").

The short version: We do not collect, store, or share your personal data. All scanning happens entirely on your device.

📷 Camera & Scanning

The App requires camera access solely to scan QR codes and barcodes. We do not:

• Upload any camera images to our servers
• Store scanned content outside your device
• Share scanned data with third parties

All scan processing happens locally on your device using Google ML Kit, which runs entirely offline.

💾 Data We Store Locally

The following data is stored only on your device and never transmitted to us:

• Scan history (QR codes and barcodes you have scanned)
• QR codes you have created
• App preferences (dark mode, language, beep settings)

You can delete this data at any time from within the App.

📊 Analytics & Crash Reporting Third Party

We use Firebase Crashlytics (by Google) to collect anonymous crash reports. This helps us fix bugs and improve the App. Data collected includes:

• Device model and OS version
• App version
• Stack traces when the app crashes

No personally identifiable information is included in crash reports.

📢 Advertising Third Party

The free version of the App shows ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID to show relevant ads. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

• You can opt out of personalised ads in your device settings
• Purchasing the Pro version removes all ads entirely

💳 Purchases Third Party

In-app purchases are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not collect or store any payment information. All billing is handled by Google according to their Terms of Service.

🌐 Internet Access

The App uses internet access for:

• Fetching product health information (Open Food Facts API) when you scan a food barcode
• Checking link safety for scanned URLs
• Loading advertisements
• Sending crash reports

Scanned QR content itself is never sent to our servers.

👶 Children's Privacy

This App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.

🔄 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
